Our story
Elsulaimaniya Trust is a Scottish registered charity (SC041063), established in Aberdeen in November 2009. We exist to relieve suffering, distress and poverty in the Elsulaimaniya area and the wider River Nile State of northern Sudan, and elsewhere when the need is urgent.
Our work includes emergency aid for families affected by conflict and disaster, support for the education of disadvantaged children, healthcare and disease prevention, and advancing women’s access to education and healthcare.
How we work
We are a small, volunteer-run trust. Our trustees take no payment, and we keep running costs to a minimum so that donations go where they are needed.
On the ground in Sudan we work with the Abdulrahim Elyas Charitable Association for Development (ACAD), our trusted local partner, and coordinate with organisations including the Sudanese Red Crescent in River Nile State.
Our trustees
